As I was looking for a message that would serve everyone, in particular entrepreneurs, I found a quote written by James Allen in his book
As a Man Thinketh, that certainly fits this time of chaos.

Many times, over the years in our Mind Masters Group meetings, the question is always asked, how much should be spent on marketing and advertising. Some businesses start on a shoestring and grow rapidly. Others take hundreds even thousands of dollars and go at a snail’s pace. While I have never heard a hard and fast answer to how much you should spend, you need a strategy that will produce results for you.
The key here is not how much you spend, but that you consistently reinvest money in your business. Determine how much you can afford, is it $100 … Read More
Everyone’s revved up for business success in 2020.
You’re excited too, for sure, but also a bit nervous.
The world of entrepreneurship is now super competitive.
You see, it’s easier than ever to start a business. Overcrowding!
Millions of entrepreneurs are hawking goods and services across all platforms. So, it’s harder to get noticed. That puts you in a tight spot.
Make people interested in what you do.
The market is only going to become more fiercely competitive in 2020 and beyond. There is something, though, you can do to stand out, attract attention and get real results for your … Read More
Over the years as we go about this last quarter I have recognized the importance of focusing Mind Masters members on the topic of managing what’s behind the scene, the financial status of the business. We started our businesses because we wanted more personal freedom and possessed valuable knowledge and skills in a specific industry or profession. However, many of us didn’t start with a clear picture of the business we were going to create. Instead, we went out and did what we were good at and the business was built around us.
The question I like to pose is … Read More
As I listened to a talk last week the word Mastery captured my attention. As business owners we know that strategy is vital for success. It charts the course and sets the direction. But, we also know that so often our goals never take off because they are drowned by all of the other competing interests.
To build a solid reputation with yourself and others, to earn more money, and to ensure business success requires the enforcement and mastery of self-discipline, self-control and self-awareness.
Create that power with these ideas:

As a growing business owner are you getting caught in the hyper competitive market environment? When you work alone it is often difficult to fulfill all the roles you have to play. So how do you stay competitive? At Mind Masters I often harp on the importance of staying focused to the high priority, high payoff areas of the business, but when you are doing it all, everything seems “high priority”. But being in business means staying connected to the people who do business with you as well as the people who refer business to you.

Having just spent time in a meeting with a not for profit where the financial person introduced her concerns over the number of Independent Contractors the organization seems to be paying, I remembered what C.J. Westrick spoke to a group of our Veteran Entrepreneurs about this subject and thought I needed to bring it to your attention. Her HR expertise is worth reviewing whether you are an I/C or the company hiring them.
If you want a follow up on the ABC Test for I/C, email me and I will send you her other article (email@example.com).
Is your Contractor Really … Read More
The second half of the year has arrived! Are you at the mid-point for your 2019 Goals and Objectives? Or are you finding all the drive that brought the initial motivation and excitement has melted away, the steam has run out, the place you are in is comfortable and the dream world has slipped out from under?
Perhaps the goals you set were so big you feel beat up in the process to achieve them. Or you have achieved that big goal and don’t know where to go from here. Having worked with small business owners over the years, these … Read More
Having spent a good part of my early life shy and introverted the idea of marketing myself was the biggest challenge I had to overcome. It meant I would have to overcome the fear of talking to people or risk not accomplishing my goals. Putting myself into first a monthly networking group and then a weekly executive group got me out of those uncomfortable feelings (small steps).
Networking helped me focus on helping other people with their challenges. So I built my Success Motivation business and Mind Masters program by Networking, which provided me with lessons along the way that … Read More
Recently while sharing a topic on productivity with Mind Masters members, it reminded me of one of the keys I wrote about in my Master the Game of Business book, “work from your strengths”.
You have the opportunity to do what you do best everyday; but chances are you don’t because you are not investing your time making the most of the strengths, skills and resources you already have. Psychologists have studied the effect that when you’re focusing on strengths, you have higher productivity and increased overall satisfaction with results.
When a Business owner focuses on the business’s strengths, they … Read More
